Head PSL, Real Estate, Shoosmiths LLP


Peter is the head of the Real Estate Division's professional support lawyer team.

Peter has been a PSL specialising in commercial real estate since 1994.  He was an associate, and subsequently a partner, at Norton Rose (now Norton Rose Fulbright), and then worked as a real estate PSL first at Simmons & Simmons and then at Eversheds.  After leaving Eversheds, he ran his own training organisation, Falco Legal Training, for almost two years, before joining Shoosmiths in September 2015.

Peter writes and lectures for various organisations including Estates Gazette, Landlord & Tenant Review, the Commercial Real Estate Legal Association (CRELA), CPT Events and the CPD Foundation.  

Peter is particularly interested in sustainability and energy efficiency and he was a member of the Non-Domestic Minimum Building Energy Performance Standards Working Group, which reported to the Department of Energy & Climate Change in advance of the consultation on the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard Regulations.
Peter is also a member of the Working Group that devised and now maintains the Model Commercial Lease (MCL), and he looks after the MCL’s website.

Peter is a founder member of the London Property Support Lawyers Group, a member of the editorial boards of both Landlord & Tenant Review and Landlord and Tenant Reports, a member of the PLC Property consultation board and a member of the committee of the Commercial Real Estate Legal Association (CRELA).  He is a CEDR-accredited mediator.
