Tony Chase is a Partner and Head of Compensation at Gerald Eve LLP, based at the firm's London (West End) office.
He has specialised in compulsory purchase and compensation for over 30 years, advising acquiring authorities, developers and claimants on a wide range of compensation issues, and is considered to be one of the leading experts in this field. He is a past Chairman, of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' Compulsory Purchase and Compensation Panel, is a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association and has been involved in many government working parties and other professional groups looking into the compensation code and the case for reform.
Throughout that time Tony has given evidence as an expert witness to courts and tribunals including the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) and its predecessor the Lands Tribunal, the High Court and the County Court.
He also
specialises in advising on the new Electronic Communications Code. He has advised a major operator on
the basis of the assessment of consideration and compensation under the provisions of the Code
following its publication in draft in July 2016, and has undertaken valuations
and provided support as an expert witness since the Code came into effect on 28
December 2017.
