James
Findlay QC, called 1984 , practices mainly in planning and environmental
law. He was
also called in Scotland in 2008, becoming a QC there in 2017. He was former
co-head of Cornerstone Barristers and is Chair of the Scottish Planning, Local
Government and Environmental Bar Group. He has
been recognised for many years in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners in
both jurisdictions as a leading practitioner in the fields of Planning &
Environment, Local Government, Administrative and Public and Licensing law (or
their Scottish equivalent). Recent commentary in Chambers 2018
noted: "Charismatic, good with clients and
excellent on his feet" and "His expertise is second to none. He really
knows his stuff and has the ear of the court." Amongst
other matters, he is currently leading a team representing Guildford in its
local plan and last year represented the RSPB in a major challenge to 4
offshore windfarms.
