Ian joined Turner Morum in 1992 as the Business Rates and Statutory Valuations Partner. 

The bulk of his time is spent on business rate appeals and advice, predominantly dealing with complex and specialist properties in the heavy industrial, petrochemical, utilities, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and leisure sectors and also managing a growing team of rating specialists.

Other general areas of expertise include property taxation, consultancy advice and compulsory purchase and compensation. 

Ian is a current member of the Committee of the Rating Surveyors’ Association, he sits on the Valuation Tribunal Users’ Group (“VTUG”) and is a past Director and Council Member of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation.

Ian has also been the Rating Adviser to the Horticultural Trades Association since 1987 and is widely regarded as the leading rating specialist on garden centres and retail nurseries in the UK.
