Jon is Group Managing Director of Ardent having originally began his journey with the business as a graduate and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor, initially working in Liverpool and latterly in London. During that period Jon undertook land referencing for various Transport and Works Act Orders and subsequently prepared property cost estimates and negotiated land and works agreements and compensation settlements for a range of projects before progressing to give expert evidence to public inquiries for housing and regeneration CPOs.

Upon leaving in 2013 Jon joined what was then Hamer Associates as a Director, where he initially established their compulsory purchase team, before being appointed as Managing Director in 2015. During his time as MD Jon oversaw the growth of the business, achieving 30%+ revenue and profit growth year-on-year.

Jon oversaw the sale of Hamer Associates to the Gateley Group in 2016, where it was renamed as Gateley Hamer. Throughout his period at Gateley Hamer Jon also served on the Board of the Compulsory Purchase Association, of which he was appointed Chairman in 2018-19. He has also contributed to the RICS Professional Statement for compulsory purchase practitioners and its Guidance Paper for telecoms practitioners.

During his time at Gateley Jon also served on the Boards of two other Group companies and spent two years on their Operations Board.
