Sam is an Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Management Practice group at Eversheds LLP specialising in Real Estate Litigation.

Sam provides strategic advice and risk analysis on a wide range of contentious property issues and acts for a wide range of Real Estate clients, including banks, retailers, corporate occupiers, commercial developers and utility providers.

Sam's experience includes all forms of property related disputes, including a broad range of landlord and tenant disputes such as the exercise of break options, dilapidations claims, service charge disputes, recovery of rent arrears and forfeiture, tenancy insolvency, and contested and uncontested lease renewals, as well as freehold disputes including adverse possession claims, claims for possession of land, right of way disputes, and disputes involving the enforceability of restrictive covenants. He also acts on professional negligence claims against surveyors and solicitors.

He has experience in relation to the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) and expert determination, as well as the Court process, and has also successfully used alternative forms of dispute resolution such as mediation.

Sam's recent highlights include a high value dilapidations claim for a leading international bank, which settled through mediation, and advising on a vacant possession strategy for a large scale mixed used development.

Sam is a member of the Property Litigation Association and regularly provides training for colleagues and clients, as well as external training to members of RICS.
