Robert is the policy lead for compulsory purchase and compensation in the Planning Directorate of the Department for Communities and Local Government. He has been working on compulsory purchase policy since 1998, when he was the Secretary to the Compulsory Purchase Policy Review Advisory Group. He has been involved in all the compulsory purchase legislation since then, up to and including the Neighbourhood Planning Bill. He also has other policy responsibilities, including planning enforcement, advertisement control and heritage.”
