Mark is the Head of UK Project Development - Offshore at Ørsted. Ørsted develops, constructs and operates
offshore and onshore wind farms, bioenergy plants, energy storage and provides
energy products to its customers. Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted is 50% owned
by the Danish State, is listed on the Copenhagen stock exchange, and employs
6,300 people. In his Land & Property role he has overall
responsibility for the delivery and management of land rights and real estate
for electrical infrastructure, harbour logistics, warehouses, offices,
heliports, asset crossings and anything else needed to support the business’
activities. Ørsted’s largest business unit, Offshore, has project
activities in Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, UK, and, in the
US, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware,
Maryland and Virginia. Ørsted acquires land rights inside and outside of
expropriation regimes. Prior to joining Ørsted in 2012 Mark worked for
six years at Vodafone managing teams acquiring land and permits for
telecommunications infrastructure in UK and mainland Europe. His earlier
career roles were at consultancies focusing on land for infrastructure and in
the last twenty years he has worked on over a thousand kilometres of linear
projects and approaching three thousand fixed installations.
