Asitha is regularly instructed to advise and appear in all aspects of planning and environmental litigation. He is often involved in assisting clients through the planning process by providing strategic, legal, and tactical advice and representing clients at public inquiries, hearings, and in the Higher Courts.

Asitha has significant experience of advising and appearing at s.78 inquiries in relation to residential schemes of varying scales, involving housing land supply, design, landscape, cultural heritage, and related highways issues.

His expertise covers all aspects of the enforcement process and he has considerable experience of appeals involving enforcement notices and other regulatory controls.

With regard to renewable energy, Asitha has appeared at several recovered wind farm inquiries (Treading Field in Fenland, Hempnall in South Norfolk, Spring Farm Ridge in South Northants).

Recent work includes:

- Appearing at an inquiry concerning a 650 dwelling scheme: emerging highway improvements and neighbourhood plan issues were considered.
- Advising 3rd party objectors in relation to the proposed redevelopment of Headingley Cricket Ground to be cross-funded by 2 separate housing schemes in the Green Belt.
- Appearing at an enforcement inquiry involving a vehicle repair / scrap metal business operating in the Green Belt.
- Advising in relation to s.187B injunctive proceedings following the importation and deposit of considerable quantities of waste within an AONB and adjacent to a SSSI.
- Assisting South Norfolk DC through its Site Allocations and Development Management Plan examination process.
