I started my career with Cluttons in 1977, joined Hobbs Parker in 1986 and as a Partner in 1989. I am qualified as a Fellow of RICS. I specialised in Professional rather than Agency and so read law obtaining a Masters in Law in 1995. I was invited to join Savills in 2002 and have established a position where I specialise in CPO and other areas of work as an Expert Witness.

I am currently Chairman of the RICS CPO Policy Panel and a member of the Valuation, Compensation and Tax Committee at CAAV. I am also a member of the Agricultural Law Association, the Compulsory Purchase Association and a Council Member of the National Infrastructure Planning Association
