Gary's has had a varied and diverse career at both home and abroad. Called to the Bar of the Inner Temple, he has made significant contributions in various legal, and regulatory roles before appointment into the judiciary. From his early days at the Bar to his international work in Kosovo with the United Nations(UNMIK) and The Hague ( ICTY), he has demonstrated a strong commitment to justice and legal reform. His involvement in setting up new systems for handling complaints and his work with the Independent Police Complaints Commission highlight his expertise in administrative and regulatory law and was followed up in the role of Deputy Chief Legal Ombudsman for England and Wales. As President of the Valuation Tribunal for England he reformed and simplified the rules of practice and procedure to accommodate the Check, Challenge and Appeal system; has steered the development of virtual hearings across the tribunal making it a leader in the field. Gary also is a qualified legal trainer and mediator.
