Caroline Drummond was appointed a full time Scottish Law Commissioner in February 2015. Caroline has been lead Commissioner on the project for reform of the law of Compulsory Purchase, and since September 2016 has led the team addressing reform of the proprietary aspects of leases.

Prior to that Caroline was a partner in Burness Paull for 27 years, specialising in property law, and representing a broad spectrum of clients from both the private and public sectors. Caroline spent some years on the Scottish Property Federation Policy Board and was a recognised expert on commercial leases
