Anna has worked for Highways England (previously Highways Agency) for over 14 years in their Major Projects Directorate.

This includes 5 years as Assistant Project Manager for the organisation’s first DCO scheme - the A556 Knutsford to Bowdon Improvement Scheme. She had responsibility for scoping, planning and managing delivery of the statutory consultation, planning application and public examination work. The successful outcome of DCO consent enabled start of construction in November 2014.

Anna identified the need for and now is team leader of Highways England’s DCO & Statutory Processes Team. The team supports delivery of DfT’s £15 billion Road Investment Strategy by providing close support to individual project teams on their DCO-related work whilst working with a variety of key internal and external stakeholders to provide an overview of the DCO pipeline. The team also identifies and delivers organisation-wide solutions and efficiencies in this area - for example standard guidance, template documents and processes.  

Anna is a member of the National Infrastructure Planning Association, which brings together those involved in DCO schemes to develop and disseminate learning and best practice.
