The principal areas of Peter Village QC’s practice are planning and environmental law, compulsory purchase and related public law and commercial disputes. His planning practice covers the full range of developments including residential, retail, airports and infrastructure projects.

Peter has been a planning and compulsory purchase law litigator since he started at the bar. He took silk in 2002. He was recognised by Chambers and Partners as their ‘Planning & Environment Silk of the Year’ in 2012. He has acted on some of the UK’s largest CPOs and associated valuation disputes including the Birmingham Bull Ring for the promoter; and for Guinness in the Guinness v Railtrack litigation. He acted for the only two successful objectors to the Olympic Games CPO, and more recently for the successful objectors in the Blackwall Reach CPO and the Orchard Wharf CPO.
