John joined River Island in January 2017 and is responsible for managing River Island’s estate with regards to new acquisitions, asset & estates management, dilapidations and Business Rates.

John started his career in private practise at Ashwell Rogers, before joining Arcadia Group as an Estates Surveyor, where his responsibilities included managing the company’s Business Rates.

John then spent two years with CBRE in Malaysia as Head of Retail, before relocating to Warsaw for 6 years where is was Property and Development Director for Jatomi Fitness.

In addition to his role at River Island, John represents the PMA regarding Business Rates and founded the Retailers Rates Action Group in November 2018.
