Ben Aspinall is one of the founder Directors of AspinallVerdi – Property Regeneration Consultants with over 25 years in development consultancy.  Ben is a Chartered Surveyor and Chartered Town Planner, specialising in property investment and finance.  He is an RICS Registered Valuer and a Civil Commercial Mediator and has worked for major practices including DTZ and GVA.  

Ben has significant experience in planning and development consultancy; strategic planning and policy making; financial modelling; economic viability assessments; and the development and delivery of major housing projects. He acts for both Local Authorities and private developers at a policy and site-specific level and has given evidence at examinations in public/appeal hearings.

Ben is on the RTPI England Policy Panel (EPP) and on the PAS (Planning Advisory Service) Panel for economic viability modelling.  Until recently Ben was a Non-Executive Director of Connect Housing Association.

Ben has personally advised on Plan-wide economic viability studies for Central Bedfordshire, Craven, Hambleton, Harborough, Sandwell, South Oxfordshire, South Lakeland and West Oxfordshire Councils amongst others.  Ben has also advised on numerous strategic sites and urban extensions including: 3,500 units on the flagship Northern Arc scheme at Burgess Hill for Mid-Sussex District Council; 4 x new garden community proposals for Swale District Council; 2,500 units at Ashton Green Sustainable Urban Extension (Leicester City Council); 1,350 units at Claro Barracks, Ripon (Harrogate BC); 2,700 units at Lutterworth (Harborough District Council); and Didcot Garden Town.  He recently led a team to assess the deliverability of 70 garden towns and villages for Homes England and is retained on Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) due diligence assignments.

AspinallVerdi is on the RICS steering group to update the Financial Viability In Planning (FVIP) guidance. AspinallVerdi is also on the Professional Property Framework for Homes England and is retained as site specific viability advisors for various local authorities.
