Tim started his career 25 years ago with a small practice in Kent before joining CBRE in 1998 where he spent 12 years; JLL borrowed him for 6 years although he re-joined CBRE in February 2016. Tim has spent his entire career in business rates and has dealt with almost every property type although his passion is for the City of London and Canary Wharf office markets which take up the vast majority of his time. He advises predominantly occupiers but also developers and landlords.
Tim sits on the committee of the G7 Group of Rating Surveyors which deals specifically with City of London valuation issues and he has had significant involvement in establishing valuation principles for each of the last 4 revaluations.
Of some minor note is Tim’s role in a number of Tribunal cases which have covered such issues as unit of assessment and oversupply and more recently the application of Monk v Newbiggin and what constitutes a scheme of works.
Tim is the Past President of The Rating
Surveyors’ Association and has served on the committee for the last 11 years; his qualifications include a Bachelor
of Science.
