Raj heads Town Legal’s compulsory purchase team and specialises in all aspects of compulsory purchase and infrastructure planning law. He is particularly well-known for his expertise in managing contested land compensation proceedings. Raj is an elected member of the national committee of the Compulsory Purchase Association and leads its law reform working group. Alongside colleagues, he publishes a regular blog on developments in compulsory purchase law and practice.
Raj’s recent experience includes:
- Compensation claims: acting on a number of high value claims Including for Freightliner, IM Group, Canfield and others including for Curzon Park Limited in proceedings currently before the Supreme Court
- Representing local planning authorities and landowners in relation to Development Consent and transport and Works Act Orders.
- Advising a number of major developers on promotions of large housing and regeneration CPOs
