Jonathan was appointed Permanent Chief Executive of the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) in September 2021, having undertaken the role on an interim basis since March 2020.

Previously Chief People Officer for the VOA, Jonathan’s responsibilities included accountability for Human Resources (HR) function, Estates and Communications. 

He has been a civil servant for nearly 30 years, starting in the Health and Safety Executive as a health and safety Inspector 

Jonathan is currently a member of the Civil Service Pensions Board and the Civil Service Insurance Society Board and has recently come to the end of his tenure as advisor to the Royal College of Nurses and as a Trustee of the Charity of Civil Servants. 

Jonathan also undertakes the role as the Head of Profession for Health and Safety in the Civil Service; in doing so, was key to the discussions and decisions around COVID19 and keeping our people safe during the pandemic and as we returned to offices.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development, and a Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
