Compensation for Hope Value – Is it Fair, Equitable and Affordable?

The CPA is delighted to host Andrew Ward, Lead on Compulsory Purchase Policy and Reform for the Department for Levelling Up, Homes and Communities, who is leading the team responsible for implementing the compulsory purchase provisions under LURA. In this session Andrew will walk through the relevant LURA provisions affecting CPO being brought into force, explain the changes being introduced and the relevant timescales for implementation.

This session is essential viewing for all CPO practitioners, as the new LURA provisions will impact on the use of CPO powers both now and in the future.

The new provisions range from procedural changes to time limits affecting CPOs and variation to General Vesting Declaration processes, through to wider reforms concerning Certificates of Appropriate Alternative Development and new processes for directions to be sought to limit ‘hope value’ compensation in certain cases.
