Following on the heels of the CPA Land Compensation Protocol 2.0, the RICS has published their new edition of their professional statement that affects compulsory purchase surveyors. Its official title is:
Surveyors advising in respect of compulsory purchase and statutory compensation
2nd edition
It requires all chartered surveyors in the compulsory purchase space to adhere to the requirements; and failure to do so can result in RICS disciplinary action. Effectively, it is a statement for all negotiators involved in compulsory purchase to adhere to; and for those acting as solicitors barristers and mediators. It can be an effective tool to encouraging both sides in a negotiation to cooperate and engage constructively.
Unlike typical past talking heads discussions. For this topic, there will be slides used during the event, to highlight the changes that have taken place. This will then lead into a debate around the key changes and what it means to practitioners.
If you work within Compulsory Purchase, you really shouldn’t miss this event!
