The conference will start with a keynote address from Holgate J, President of the Upper Tribunal Lands Chamber and will focus on the delivery of sustainable development and address recent changes and forthcoming reforms to the Compulsory Purchase regime and a review of the decisions of the First-tier Tribunal relating to Assets of Community Value and their import for the development process.
It will then turn to deal with the law relating to air quality in the light of the ClientEarth judgement and its likely effect on decision making going forward. There will be a review of recent appeal decisions dealing with constraints to development (including Green Belt, AONB, sites of ecological value and designated heritage assets) and how they are currently being addressed by Inspectors and the Secretary of State, followed by a session considering the implications for delivery of the Housing and Planning Act.
The conference will conclude as usual with the case law update.
